Raja Ampat Islands A Blue and Green World

Raja Ampat islands are a truly natural phenomenon with enormous biological diversity. It is ablue and green world in the middle of nowhere. You can see four extremely beautiful Island in these area are Waigeo, Misool, Salawati, and Batanta. Its actually located in Papua in Indonesia
The amazing marine landscape means that underwater photography should be on the top your list during your stay. So may be you should put your headphones on, play your favourite music and lets just have a virtual trip to this heavenly place.

Wayag Island


Wayag Islands are an uninhabited group of uplifted limestone (karst) islands NW of Waigeo. It is actually located between Gag Island and Manuran Island in the Raja Ampat IslandsWayag Island is considered as most beautiful Island in Raja Ampat Islands





Misool Island




So Misool Island is also one of the major Island in that area. It is around 2035 km². Dont forget to visit other Islands close this area like Salawati, Batanta and Waigeo.
It has some most beautiful and most famous eco-resorts too which could be useful for your romantic gateaways.



 Things to do at Raja Ampat Islands

So, apart from the photography (underwater and outside), taste of the local cuisine, and watching the beauty of the sea biodiversity, what else you can do?
You can do Diving, snorkelling, kayaking, fishing, boating, trekking into the nearby waterfalls.
1.Watch the sea ghost – In East Waigeo, particularly in front of Urbinasopen and Yesner villages, there is a very interesting, beautiful and unique natural phenomenon, which can only be seen every year-end.
There is a light which comes out from the ocean and spreads around on its surface for about 10 – 20 minutes. After that, it disappears and can only be seen again at the following years-end. Local people at the villages call this phenomenon the “Sea Ghost”. This is more than just a sunset view, overlooking from your liveaboard.
2. Trip to Tolomol Caves – It is a cave site which you will not want to miss. You’ll be amazed by the caves in the area.

Here you will paintings of huge human palms and animals which were painted by ancient cave dwellers. While on North Waigeo, you can also take in some history with a visit to the World War II caves where the Japanese army built their bunkers.
3. Diving – If you are the one who is crazy for driving then i would recommend you to go west or  South Waigeo. It would be best if you contact any tour operator there.

Note - Before going to a dive spot, you’ll need to obtain a permit from the local Papua police station. You will need to bring your passport and three (3) copies of the passport page with the Indonesian Visa. The diving organizers can help you with these formalities.
4. Trip to Local Village – You can take a walk to the local villages and also trek around the islands to find hidden beauties, like waterfalls and ancient caves.
Locals people here sometimes perform a war dance. There is also the ever-flowing waterfall of Salawati, which is a sight you should not miss.
